Christmas Island Power Station
The client
Christmas Island Power Station (CIPA) generates and distributes power on Christmas Island (Indian Ocean), located 2600 km north of Perth and 360km south of Jakarta.
Contract requirements
T.S.F. was selected in April 1995 to design and construct an upgrade to the existing Diesel power station.
Scope
The installation is designed to give substantial efficiency gains for CIPA including unmanned station operation. The engines installed are high efficiency engines designed to run on medium fuel oil 180cst/50C as well as distillate. T.S.F. incorporated Dieseltune an Australian developed computer based diagnostic system that allows the engines to be kept at peak efficiency. T.S.F. developed a computer based Programmed Maintenance System (PMS) which is integrated with the SCADA/T.S.F. system so that equipment servicing at controlled hours is fully documented.
Why T.S.F.?
- Specialist power generation contractors with proven ability to integrate imported equipment with Australian equipment.
- Extensive experience in remote localities.
- Choice of prime movers and a range of other equipment.
